There is a transformative dynamic to group therapy that for many is a uniquely effective way to tackle problems and learn how to cope with them. The social aspect of being in a group, where feedback and reactions from others are in the moment, provides a profound opportunity to learn about who you are in an interpersonal context as well as gain support from others. Although everyone is unique, group therapy offers a powerful experience helping people realize that they are not alone.
Group therapy can be structured to end after a certain period of time or it can be ongoing. Both require engagement and commitment. Dr. Saland currently offers a Men’s Group as well as a coed Adolescent Group for Social Anxiety and Social Skills. Please click on groups for more information.
Many people who participate in group therapy find not only a reduction in symptoms but an increase in self-awareness, an improvement in self-esteem, and a strengthened ability to maintain thriving relationships.
